In the coming years, the old bus depot of Arriva will be transformed into a sustainable innovation center (CIS), intended as a physical central location and signboard of the Regiocampus.

In total, the innovation center will be approximately 9,800 m2. The Challenge is to match the appearance and use of the building as closely as possible to the concept of the innovation center.

The challenge is to collect concrete feasible ideas related to a sustainable realization and use of the building. In the first instance, this could include which materials can be applied during the realization of the innovation center (contributing to a reduction in energy consumption, materials produced on a natural basis/degradable/recyclable/sustainable), but also ideas about sustainable use of the building (e.g. zero waste and 0% plastic waste, maintenance costs, energy consumption) are welcome. It is also possible to look at the functions of the building (lab rooms, meeting rooms, office space, production space, traffic zones, canteen, etc.) and at the energy installations (e.g. GEO thermal or using excess heat from the GETEC industrial park). Solutions and materials preferably come from Drenthe and/or originate from knowledge or knowledge institutions in the region.

In other words: Campus Emmen is looking for optimal sustainability.

Come up with concrete feasible ideas related to a sustainable realization and use of the building.
